Filtration Technology

The Blueair Pro XL SmokeStop employs a three-stage filtration system to purify air efficiently. As air is drawn in, an ion chamber imparts a negative charge to particles, facilitating their attachment to filter fibres.

Primary layers capture larger particles like dust, while smaller fibres trap viruses, bacteria, and exhaust particles. Despite the use of the term "HEPASilent," the unit doesn't utilise traditional HEPA filtration.

Instead, it combines ionisation, electrostatic, and mechanical filtration technologies.

The varying densities of the Blueair Pro XL SmokeStop filter fibres prevent quick overloading, enabling sustained high filtration efficiency.

Contingent on contamination levels, remaining filter life, and speed settings, the unit's efficiency may vary. Blueair recommends changing filters every six months.

SmokeStop Filter: The included SmokeStop filter utilises activated carbon to trap odours, chemicals, and VOCs. Designed for environments with high gaseous pollutants, including smoke, its antibacterial fibres inhibit bacteria and mould growth. The gradient system allows the filter to perform various functions, trapping particles of different sizes.

Carbon+ Filter: The optional Carbon+ filter adds an extra layer of carbon filtration to target heavy gases, odours, and VOCs. Its carbon structure is effective in trapping a wide range of gases and odours.
