The Ferno Compact PowerTraxx, available from Adapt Life, is a practical powered stair track chair designed to make patient transfers safer and easier—especially on stairs.
Built on the trusted design of the widely used Compact 2 Track Chair, the PowerTraxx introduces powered functionality to reduce manual lifting, helping to protect both patients and operators.
Compact and lightweight, this chair is easy to manoeuvre through tight corners and narrow staircases, making it ideal for both frontline emergency services and planned patient transport.
The attachable powered track module eliminates the strain of moving patients up or down stairs, while the chair can still be used manually when needed.
The wireless control system offers variable and fixed-speed options, with a backup feature allowing descent even if power is lost.
Additional features include a built-in light for poorly lit stairwells, an adjustable rear handle, front grip handles, and large wheels for smooth handling.
The seat cover is removable and easy to clean, and a head pad adds comfort for the patient.
Biosafe chest and ankle safety straps are included for added security during transfers.
Compliant with EN 1865:2015 and EU MDR 17/745 standards, the Compact PowerTraxx supports a maximum load of 200 kg and weighs just 23.8 kg.

I later ordered a different chair. and from ordering to delivery took 4 days.. I was sceptical about the company at first but now would recommend to anyone.. Thank you sales team.

Perfect chair for my daughter
As a small family run Care Home, we purchased a Seca Model 665 some 20+ years ago. It finally gave up when the LCD screen only displayed half the numbers! After doing a quick online search we found Adaptlife as they were also family run and decided on the 677 Model as it had the handrail which is much safer. Although we have only had it a short time it is a big thumbs up with the staff and residents alike. The discount with Adaptlife was a bonus and delivery was quick. All in all a great experience and would definitely use them again
Fast delivery, helpful staff, great prices and quality furniture
Cannot fault Adapt Life. They have been brilliant throughout the buying cycle. And now my daughter has a bed that’s totally revolutionised her life. Thank you all. X

An evacuation chair is a specially designed chair used to safely transport individuals who are disabled, elderly, or otherwise unable to evacuate a building on their own during an emergency, especially down the stairs.
The legal requirement for evacuation chairs varies by region and the nature of the building. However, it's generally considered good practice to have them, especially in multi-storey buildings, to ensure everyone's safety.
Yes, evacuation chairs are designed to be user-friendly so that most able-bodied individuals can operate them. Training is recommended to ensure safe and efficient use.
To use an evacuation chair, securely seat the individual in the chair, fasten the safety restraints, and carefully manoeuvre the chair according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically using tracks or wheels to move down stairs.
Progressive horizontal evacuation is a strategy used in multi-storey buildings where occupants are moved from the area of immediate danger to a safer area on the same floor. This method is often used in conjunction with evacuation chairs to ensure the safety of all individuals, especially those who cannot use stairs.
